Amnesia, 2020. |
Amnesia is a short film that features a top executive, Cosmos, who jumps off a cliff into the sea and loses his memory. In search of his past and to find a solution to his hydrophobia, he turns to Casandra, a very special psychologist who uses clairvoyance to try to help him. Given what crystallomancy reveals to Cassandra, she decides not to communicate her past to Cosmos but rather to propose a new future far from her previous life. Cassandra's suggestion to address the future of Cosmos throws him off, although he decides to follow her instructions with excellent results. Amnesia addresses trauma, memory loss and renewed confidence in life starting from two blows as turning points to embark on a new journey, one real and the other metaphorical, constructed in a symmetrical and polarized way. The first will be the fall of Cosmos into the water as a metaphor for a turbulent emotional world and the subsequent amnesia and the second will be a stroke of luck when he wins a game of chance and as a consequence the journey he decides to undertake towards a new life with a renewed mind. The piece has been built following the symmetrical scheme: blow in the sea (fall), call to secretary-home, window-home, consultation with flashback and flashforward, window-car, call to secretary-car, airport (rise), being consultation is the central axis on which the action of the work revolves. |
